Hawaii Institute for Public Affairs (HIPA) and the State of Hawaii Department of Education are joining with the national Council of Education Facilities Planners International (CEFPI) to present a Symposium on “Facilities Matter: The Case for 21st Century Schools”.
We have excellent speakers and presentations from Hawaii and the mainland. We will be hearing about the importance of facilities in the 21st Century and how they affect student achievement. There will be a video presentation of the winning school designs from the annual contest run by CEFPI. The program for the day is available on the CEFPI website at www.cefpi.org.
You are receiving this invitation since you have in some way supported 21st Century Schools. There is very limited seating and we want you to have the opportunity to attend. Please sign up as soon as possible.
The Symposium is on Saturday, January 14, 2012 and will be held at the John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM) in the Medical Education Building at 651 Ilalo Street in Kaka’ako. The Symposium will take place in the 3rd floor Auditorium from 7:30 am until 4:30 pm.
Parking will be in Lot C and there is a $5.00 fee.
The cost for the Symposium is $45 for public sector individuals and $95 for everyone else. This includes wonderful food served in the Kulia Grill at JABSOM run by the Kapiolani Community College culinary students. Breakfast will be served at 7:30 am with lunch and two breaks during the day.
