Planning Meeting: Tuesday, June 10, 2014, 9:00-11:00am at The Learning Coalition, 841 Bishop Street. #301.
At the May 13, 2014 HE’E Planning Meeting, after reviewing the results of the legislative session in which only a few education bills passed, the group suggested that the Coalition focus on a top priority issue, which could result in concrete action. This could mean policy advocacy or pushing for legislation on a particular issue. The group suggested that we ask the Coalition members to recommend prospective issues and then take a poll to see what issue would have the most support. Prospective issues include:
1. Safe Routes to School (Parents for Public School Hawaii)
2. Breakfast After the Bell (Hawaii Appleseed Center for Law and Economic Justice)
3. Statewide Afterschool Network (Kaho’omiki)
If members would like to submit prospective issues of focus, please send to cheri@heecoalition.org by end of day Monday, May 26. 2014.
