Location: Key Project, 47-200 Waihee Rd., Kaneohe, HI 96744
The Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) Hawaii Chapter would like to invite you to our first workshop of 2012, Raising Peacebuilders 360. Participants will brainstorm and learn strategies for raising children to be leaders in effective problem-solving, critical thinking and compassionate citizenry. In our increasingly globalized world, our children need the skills to become effective leaders in bridging differences and correcting injustices. Raising peacebuilders demands a 360 approach, beginning in our homes, reinforced in our schools and supported by our communities.
We will explore what we can do to ensure the next generations are fully prepared to address our global needs. Topics will include conflict resolution, nonviolent language, choosing wise reactions to anger, service learning, peacebuilding curriculum and global interconnectedness.
Our panelists are educators and parents who integrate peacebuilding strategies in their homes and schools as well as community leaders who will share why these skills are essential in our workplaces and communities. Panel discussion will be followed by small-group skills building exercises.
